On Pace Bowling
Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Bison Lab, LLC (“Bison Lab,” “we,” “us”) handles information in connection with the On Pace Bowling mobile app (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store and Google Play.
The short version: On Pace Bowling is an account-based bowling companion. We collect the information you provide (email and name), the games and photos you save, and — with permission — precise location so we can suggest nearby bowling centers. We use that data to run the App and coach you from your own history. We do not sell your personal information or use it for third-party advertising, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.
Information we collect
- Account information. When you create an account we collect your email address, password (stored by our auth provider), and the name you give us (first, last, and display name).
- Bowling and game data. Scores, frames, pin leaves, session notes, honors/badges, and related stats you enter or that the App derives from your games.
- Scoresheet photos. If you use camera or photo library access to capture a scoresheet, those images are uploaded so we can help record your game. Photos may be visible to people who follow you, subject to the App’s visibility rules.
- Precise location (with permission). When you grant location permission, we use when-in-use precise location to suggest nearby bowling centers and tag games. We do not use background or “always” location. You can deny the permission; nearby-center suggestions will be unavailable.
- Social graph. Who you follow and who follows you, plus activity that appears based on those relationships.
- User ID. A stable account identifier (your auth subject) used to sign you in, save your data, and target feature flags.
- Device ID. A device identifier used by our feature-flag service (LaunchDarkly) so we can roll out releases safely. It is not used for advertising.
- Crash data. When crash reporting is enabled, Sentry receives anonymous crash and error diagnostics (app version, platform). We do not attach your name, email, or user id to those reports.
We do not collect phone numbers, contacts, health or financial data, browsing history, purchase history, advertising identifiers, or analytics/usage data for advertising. Phone-number features are compiled out of the shipped App.
How we use information
- Provide the App — authentication, saving games, stats, photos, and social features.
- Coach you from your own data — trends and feedback are relative to your history and skill level, not elite benchmarks.
- Operate and improve — fixing bugs and shipping features.
- Communicate with you — account verification, security notices, and responses to support requests.
- Safety and abuse prevention — investigating reports and enforcing our Terms of Service.
How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to operate On Pace Bowling:
- Service providers that process data on our behalf, including Amazon Web Services (hosting and storage), our database provider, Amazon Cognito (authentication), LaunchDarkly (feature flags), Sentry (crash reporting), and Google Places (nearby bowling centers). Under Google Play’s definition this is processing on our behalf, not “sharing” with third parties for their own purposes.
- Other users, when you use social features: people you follow (and who follow you) may see profile information, games, and photos according to the App’s follow/visibility rules. Discovery search may match display name or first/last name so others can find you.
- Legal requirements if we are required to disclose information by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Bison Lab, our users, or others.
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We retain account and game data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the App. If you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal data associated with it within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records for legal, security, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Your choices and rights
- Profile and permissions. You can update profile fields in the App and revoke camera, photos, or location access in your device settings (some features will stop working).
- Account deletion. You can delete your account and all associated data in the App at Me → Account → Delete account, or email support@bisonlab.ai to request deletion.
- Access and correction. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information. Contact us at support@bisonlab.ai.
Children’s privacy
On Pace Bowling is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (HTTPS) and limit access to production systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong unique password.
